James outside QEH

Securing a new QEH has been James' priority as the MP for North West Norfolk and he campaigned successfully in Parliament with strong local support to get a commitment to a new QEH by 2030 by the then Conservative government. After the 2024 election, he then successfully pressured the new government to match this commitment.

Having campaigned successfully in Parliament with strong public support, James' priority now is delivering our new hospital. The government has confirmed to him that up to £1.5 billion is in place for the new QEH. This is welcome news and the next step is work starting on the new multi-storey car park which will enable the new hospital to be built on the current car park.

While the funding is in place, James will continue to keep up the pressure on the government and Trust to ensure plans proceed as rapidly as possible.
