James Wild MP has expressed his delight at the interest shown by youth groups across North West Norfolk for UK Parliament Week 2024. This year, over 20 local schools, guides and scouts have signed up to take part.

Participants include: King’s Lynn Scout and Girlguide groups, Docking Scouts, East Rudham Girlguides, Gayton Girlguides, West Lynn Primary, Gaywood Primary, Snettisham Primary, Clenchwarton Primary, Walpole Crosskeys Primary, Fairstead Community Primary and Nursery, Heacham Junior, Smithdon High, St Clements High, The Rosebery School, King’s Lynn Academy and the College of West Anglia.

Those who have signed up for Parliament Week will receive a digital free kit with resources including a booklet (with information and activity ideas tailored for youth groups, primary and secondary schools, or adults), a ballot box, bunting and a 'Give Way' card game to simulate sittings which take place in the Houses of Parliament.

The week presents a unique opportunity to spread the word about what Parliament is, what it does and how you can get involved. It’s a great way for people of all ages to find out new things about the UK Parliament. To get involved and sign up, you can follow this link to the Parliament Week website: https://www.ukparliamentweek.org/en/sign-up.

Speaking on Parliament Week, James Wild MP commented:

“It is really positive to see the number of groups that have signed up for UK Parliament week this year across North West Norfolk. The level of interest shown by our youth groups and organisations is also very promising. As the future of this country, it’s crucial our young people are involved, and their voices are heard. As Member of Parliament, I take great pride in facilitating this wherever I can.”

Frans Jeens, Head of Education and Engagement at UK Parliament, said:

“UK Parliament Week is a great opportunity for people of all ages to get informed about how they can engage with UK Parliament to make a difference. Every year it’s fantastic to see so many people actively take part in UK Parliament Week.
