James Wild MP has welcomed the re-opening of the Warm Home Discount scheme for winter 2025/26 and the dedicated Charis Grants initiative, which offers park homes residents a separate pathway to access support with their energy bills, further simplified this year.

The Warm Home Discount scheme, which reopened this October, provides a one-off £150 discount on electricity bills to around 2.7 million households across England, Wales, and Scotland who pay their energy suppliers directly. Eligibility has been widened this year, allowing additional families to benefit automatically without needing to apply. Eligible households will receive confirmation letters between October and December, with payments applied between November 2025 and March 2026.

Further details on eligibility for the scheme are available at www.gov.uk/the-warm-home-discount-scheme.

Park homes residents face different circumstances, as their energy bills are typically paid through site owners rather than directly to suppliers. As a result, they are not included in the main scheme but can access the dedicated Park Homes Warm Home Discount scheme, administered by Charis Grants in partnership with energy suppliers. This scheme provides the same support through an application process tailored to park homes residents’ circumstances.

Earlier this year, James led calls in Parliament to ensure park homes residents were fully able to continue accessing warm home support. In the House of Commons, he emphasised to the Minister for Energy Security and Net Zero the need for residents who pay via site owners to continue having access to this vital support, which has now been confirmed will continue through the specialist Charis Grants scheme.

James has welcomed further enhancements to the scheme this winter, including a shorter, streamlined application form to make applying easier. Funding is limited, so applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Park homes residents who believe they qualify should apply directly via parkhomes.charisgrants.com.

James Wild MP said:

“People living in park homes often face extra hurdles when it comes to getting vital support for their energy bills, so I’m glad the dedicated application scheme run by Charis Grants has been improved to make it easier this year. After raising this issue with Ministers in Parliament to make sure park homes residents would be included, this will ensure that they receive the support they’re rightly entitled to.

With cold weather on the way and bills staying high, I encourage everyone who thinks they might qualify to apply as soon as possible so they don’t miss out on the £150 discount.”

Anyone who believes they are eligible for the main scheme but has not received correspondence by mid-January 2026 should contact the Warm Home Discount helpline on 0800 030 9322.
