James Wild MP has welcomed new funding to help reduce the burden of internal drainage board (IDB) levies on council tax payers in West Norfolk.

Commenting on the allocation of Internal Drainage Board Levy Support Grant funding, James said:

“With 43p of every £1 of council tax King's Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council collects going to internal drainage board levies, this extra funding is welcome.

I’ve worked with the council and local MPs to make the case for additional support. But we need the long-term funding solution the last government committed to in order to have a sustainable solution that is fair to local taxpayers.”

King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council has been allocated £499,000 for 2025 - 26.
