James Wild MP has welcomed today’s announcement by the Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government that King’s Lynn has been confirmed as one of the areas set to benefit from the government’s new Plan for Neighbourhoods, providing £20 million of long-term funding to invest in projects that improve the town and strengthen local services.
Originally allocated by the former government, this announcement comes as confirmation that King’s Lynn will receive funding and support over the next decade to help deliver a wide range of improvements – from enhancing high streets and community hubs, to investing in local health and wellbeing services, boosting economic growth, and tackling issues like crime and anti-social behaviour.
James Wild MP said:
“This confirmation of the £20 million allocated to King’s Lynn by the last government for projects to improve our town for local residents is very welcome. I am glad ministers listened to the case for continuing this important long-term funding to invest in our community. Through the £25 million Town Deal we are already delivering ambitious projects, and I’ll be working to ensure the new projects funded over the next decade properly reflect local people’s priorities.”
