James Wild MP recently visited CTS Training & Consultancy Ltd at its head office in Terrington St John to discuss the company’s important work in North West Norfolk and across the wider region, the role the haulage sector plays in the economy, and pressures facing the industry.
CTS Training & Consultancy is a Norfolk-based business providing professional services to the transport industry, including regulatory compliance consultancy, training, and tachograph analysis.
During the visit, James met Director Craig Cooper, Head of Public Affairs, Tom Cornwell and Training Department Manager Vicki Wood to discuss issues affecting the sector, from skill and facilities, to the Family Business Inheritance Tax which James has been actively opposing in Parliament as a Shadow Treasury Minister.
Following the meeting, James was given a tour of the site and saw the busy CTS operation at work, including the company’s new workshop facilities, before discussing the additional challenges of operating as a specialist in the dangerous goods sector of the transport industry.
CTS is also working to raise knowledge and professional standards across the industry and has recently launched bi-annual compliance seminars and conferences which have attracted strong attendance from businesses across the Eastern region.
The events are the first of their kind in the area, and CTS plans to continue expanding them ahead of a possible entry into the 2027 Mayor’s Business Awards to help raise the profile of the sector locally.
