James Wild MP has sought confirmation in Parliament on whether the government’s funding for the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in King’s Lynn remains in place following the recent Spending Review.
James asked the Health Minister whether the funding envelope set out in her April letter to the QEH was still available, which she was able to confirm remains unchanged.
This assurance gives certainty to the hospital and local community, allowing design work to continue ahead of construction, expected to begin in 2027 - 28.
James Wild MP said:
“Will the Minister confirm that the funding envelope that she set out in a letter to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in King’s Lynn in April stands unchanged after this spending review?”
In response, the Health Minister, Karin Smyth MP, said:
“Yes.”
