James Wild MP visited the Frontline Festival at The Walks in King’s Lynn to meet emergency-service, rescue and community organisations taking part and discuss the work they do across West Norfolk.
Now in its second year, the free family festival brought together emergency vehicles and equipment, historic fire engines, cadet demonstrations, police dog displays, fitness challenges, food stalls and live music.
James met staff from a range of services including the East of England Ambulance Trust, HM Prison Service, cadet units, volunteers from local search-and-rescue teams and, Clarence, from Fenland Working Newfoundlands, learning more about the organisation’s work training dogs for water rescue.

“The Frontline Festival is a great opportunity to recognise the skill, commitment and public service of the people and organisations who work to keep North West Norfolk and beyond safe.
“It was particularly good to meet the volunteers from Fenland Working Newfoundlands and learn more about how they train their dogs for water rescue. The work that goes into preparing these dogs for such an important role was fascinating to see.
“Our emergency and rescue services make an invaluable contribution to our local communities, and I will continue to support and champion the work they do.”
