James Wild MP is encouraging local residents to take part in Norfolk County Council's consultation on updated transport strategies for King's Lynn.
The consultation seeks views on plans to improve travel in and out of the town centre, taking account of changes in transport policy, new infrastructure, and habits since the pandemic. The updated strategy will guide investment in walking, cycling, public transport, and roads over the next 5-10 years to support growth and regeneration.
Running from 24 September to 5 November, the consultation invites feedback from residents, businesses, and organisations with an interest in transport infrastructure. Responses will help shape the final strategy that will be considered by councillors before adoption.
James Wild MP said:
"Better transport links are vital for people living and working in King's Lynn and for supporting local businesses and economic growth. This updated strategy will help guide future investment in the infrastructure our community needs – whether that's improving walking and cycling routes, boosting public transport, or tackling traffic congestion.
I encourage residents to take this opportunity to make their voices heard and ensure the strategy delivers the improvements that matter most to our local community."
Cllr Graham Plant, cabinet member for highways, transport and infrastructure at Norfolk County Council, said:
"Transport choices and the quality of our infrastructure make a fundamental difference to people's lives - whether that is using the road network, travelling by rail or accessing places by walking and cycling. I would urge as many people and organisations as possible to have their say through this consultation and help us develop the strategies, so they are right for these towns and integral to our economic future."
