James Wild MP is encouraging residents across North West Norfolk to use a new interactive rural crime map launched by the Countryside Alliance to expose the true scale of crime in the countryside.
The online tool allows people to log incidents such as equipment theft, fly‑tipping, poaching, and livestock worrying, helping to fill gaps in official data by capturing real‑world experiences that may never be reported to the police and building a clearer national picture of where and how rural crime is happening.
James has consistently campaigned on tackling rural crime locally and in Parliament, and has called for fairer funding for Norfolk Police to meet their unique rural demands as well as for tougher action against these offences that blight farms, villages, and small businesses.
Residents can submit their experiences via the Countryside Alliance rural crime map at www.countryside-alliance.org/report-rural-crime to help make the case for tougher enforcement and better-resourced rural policing.
Commenting on the initiative, James Wild MP said:
“Rural crime causes real harm to people who live and work in our countryside, yet too often it goes under the radar.
“By sharing their experiences on this new map, local residents can help build the evidence needed to drive tougher action and ensure rural areas like North West Norfolk get a fair deal on policing.”
