James Wild MP is encouraging residents to have their say on plans to modernise and expand Lynnsport, creating new health, swim, fitness, and community facilities for King’s Lynn and its surrounding communities.
This week, James met Councillor Simon Ring, Deputy Leader of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council, to discuss local issues, including these exciting plans for Lynnsport, where they highlighted the value of residents’ input in shaping the improvements.
The council is exploring a major redevelopment of Lynnsport, which would include a new 25-metre main pool with six lanes, a 20-metre leisure pool, a 140-station gym, group fitness and indoor cycling studios, children’s activity areas, a multi-use community room, and a new café and hub. These upgrades aim to promote active lifestyles, support wellbeing, and strengthen community ties across the town.
As part of the consultation, the council is running a public survey, hosting community drop-in events, and meeting with user groups, giving residents the chance to view the plans, ask questions, and provide feedback.
James Wild MP said:
"Lynnsport is a vital part of our community, helping people of all ages stay active and healthy. This consultation gives local people a chance to influence the design of the new facilities and ensure they meet the needs of residents now and for future generations. I encourage everyone to get involved and share their views."
Drop-in sessions will be held:
- Tuesday, 16 September: 11am - 1pm & 4pm–6pm at St James Swimming Pool
- Wednesday, 17 September: 11am - 1pm & 4pm–6pm at Lynnsport
Residents can complete the survey until Sunday 21 September at: www.west-norfolk.gov.uk/consultations
