As part of his ongoing commitment to improving healthcare services in North West Norfolk, James Wild MP visited King’s Lynn Health Hub to see how the modern facility is helping to bring community-based care closer to patients across West Norfolk, and to discuss opportunities to expand the range of services it offers.
James was welcomed by Anna Waters, Managing Director for the Midlands at NHS Property Services, Justin Spencer, Estates Delivery Partner, and Gemma Covey, Sites Operational Manager.
During a tour of the facility, James heard how the new £11.5 million hub, which opened in spring 2025, is supporting a growing range of NHS services from one site. It provides more than 20 clinical rooms and is home to primary care and maternity services, with the QEH’s Maple Midwifery Hub relocating there earlier this year.
Local practices are also using the facility to deliver services including First Contact Physiotherapy, Mental Health Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Social Prescribing support.
James was also updated on the relocation of the QEH’s Dermatology Department to the Health Hub from 4 June, where a purpose-built unit for the 19 staff is expected to have capacity to see more than 400 new patients a month.
Following the tour, James was joined by leaders from King’s Lynn Primary Care Network practices including Vida Healthcare, St James Medical Practice, and Southgates and The Woottons surgeries to discuss the Hub’s growing role in supporting community-based services, waiting lists, and meeting patient demand, and how its future development can best reflect the needs of local practices and patients across West Norfolk.

It was useful to visit King’s Lynn Health Hub and hear directly from NHS Property Services and local GP leaders about how the facility is being used, the services already being delivered there, and where there is scope for it to do more.
Bringing services together in one modern and accessible location has clear benefits for patients. With primary care and midwifery services already based there, and dermatology due to move in, the Hub has the potential to play a bigger role in delivering neighbourhood care closer to home.
A key part of my visit was to understand how the Hub can build on the strong foundations already in place, realise its full potential, and ensure future growth reflects the needs of local patients and GP practices, and I will continue working with partners to support that.

We discussed how the Hub brings together services including primary care, maternity, rehabilitation therapy and dermatology in a purpose-built, accessible and digitally enabled environment, and we are proud to have played our part in delivering this important facility for King’s Lynn and the surrounding area.
