In Parliament, James has backed higher funding for Norfolk Police to put more police on the streets and 269 extra officers were provided in the last Parliament.
Tackling crime is one of James constituents' highest priorities and having more police officers should help to pursue criminals, keep neighbourhoods safe, protect victims, and reassure the law-abiding majority.
James has also pressed for tougher sentences for driving and other serious offences and supports a greater focus on rural crimes, including fly tipping and equipment theft
James regularly meets with Norfolk Police to raise constituent concerns about crimes, be briefed on operations against serious criminals, and go out on the beat with the local policing teams including in Lynn and Hunstanton.
